Merck Research Laboratories is a true scientific research facility of tomorrow, and will take Merck's leading discovery capabilities and world-class small molecule and biologics R&D expertise to create breakthrough science that radically changes the way we approach serious diseases.  We are seeking an experienced Senior Scientist to join the Biologics Analytical Sciences group in Kenilworth, NJ as part of the Analytical Research and Development Organization at Merck & Co, Inc.  The qualified candidate will be responsible for development, qualification, implementation, troubleshooting and transfer of analytical methods for monoclonal proteins or other complex therapeutic proteins. Responsibilities include development of new assay platforms and benchmarking current approaches/techniques to industry standards. The candidate will be expected to communicate results effectively in presentations to stakeholders in partner organizations or at external scientific meetings, to write technical reports and sections of regulatory filings, and to participate in cross-functional teams. The selected individual will have the opportunity to work with a wide array of scientists from across Merck and make significant contributions towards Merck's biologics development efforts. Qualifications Education Minimum Requirement: B.S. in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Engineering, Pharmaceuticals or related field with 7 years of relevant experience; or Masters degree with 4 years of relevant experience; or Ph.D. in analytical chemistry, biochemistry, bioengineering or related biological sciences Required Experience and Skills:   Experience with UPLC/HPLC analysis of biologics (SEC, RP, IEX). Thorough knowledge of separations science. Experience with analytical method development. Good working knowledge and lab skills for working with protein samples. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Excellent organization to multi-task and manage multiple projects. Track-record of independent problem-solving and application of advanced innovative scientific approaches. Committed to working in a collaborative manner across functional areas / in matrix organization. Preferred Experience and Skills: Experience in validation of methods and transfer to GMP labs. Experience with glycan analysis, CE, UV, cIEF. Relevant experience with the development of therapeutic monoclonal antibodies and proteins and general interest in large molecule analytical chemistry. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
