Merck's success is backed by ethical integrity, forward momentum, and an inspiring mission to achieve new milestones in global healthcare. As an Associate Director, Project Managementsupporting our Continuous Improvement (CI) program for Merck's Global Process Owners (GPOs) and Business Service Centers (BSCs). He/she will work with GPO and BSC CI teams to effectively deliver IT and improvement projects on-time, as specified and within budget. He/ she is also responsible for coaching and guiding other members of staff through projects to ensure consistency and quality of project deliverables. Specific responsibilities include: Be responsible for the project management of IT and CI initiatives to support Merck's business strategies.  Collaborate closely with other organizational groups to partner with the relevant business areas to effectively coordinate execution of strategic projects.  Lead planning and reporting activities for these strategic activities and become the trusted adviser of the business Global Process Owners and Business Service Center leadership.  Ensure Merck technology standards compliance and pursue integration and leveraging of platform opportunities.  Facilitate monthly portfolio review meetings to ensure open communication between program teams, sponsors, Financial and IT Leadership. Conduct monthly financial reviews. Ensure portfolioinvestment requests align to strategic road maps and business priorities. Review program execution readiness to ensure robust governance models are in place to support decision making and issue escalation. Review financial forecasts monthly to ensure program and portfolio spend is in line with allocations. Proactively review programs for threats and opportunities. Summarize project statuses for monthly Enterprise Program Management status meetings.   Qualifications Education Minimum Requirement:  Bachelor's Degree or higher in IT, Engineering, Computer Science, Finance or related fields  Required Experience and Skills:  Strong proficiency in Project Management leading global programs, with a minimum of 5 years' experience leading IT and CI projects (>$1MM) from inception to close-out.  Strong Change Management, Communication (written, oral, presentation), negotiation, influencing and relationship building skills. Competent in the use of project management and analytical software tools. Knowledge of MS Project Server and SharePoint project portfolio management processes and reporting tools.  Strong understanding of Lean Methodology, Tools, Techniques and Accelerators.  Ability to make a positive contribution as demonstrated by learning new skills and making suggestions for process/procedure improvement.  Demonstrated ability to analyze, define, and solve business problems as well as developing business cases and advising business owners on managing risks.  Ability to work toward enterprise goals, using influence rather than control, and fostering a work environment based on trust, sharing, and collaboration.  Preferred Experience and Skills: Experience working in regulated environments (GxP, FDA, SoX). Experience leading ERP implementations. Knowledge of Robotic Process Automation a plus. Working experience in complex environments, general knowledge of finance and cost accounting. Awareness of relevant industry business, information, and technology trends.  Ability to manage globally through complexity and ambiguity along with competing priorities.  Ability to coach and mentor junior project managers. The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
