Sr Scientist - Bioprocess Technical Operations

Merck Research Laboratories is a truescientific research facility of tomorrow and will take Merck's leadingdiscovery capabilities and world-class small molecule and biologics R&Dexpertise to create breakthrough science that radically changes the way weapproach serious diseases.    Bioprocess Technical Operationsis responsible for scale-up of upstream and downstream processes in support ofpre-clinical studies, supports process development activities, evaluates andintroduces advanced manufacturing technologies and supports PAT implementation.We are seeking a motivated engineer to join a team charged with introducinginnovative technologies to enhance process development capabilities. The idealindividual would have sufficient breadth to work on projects in upstream ordownstream, for mammalian and/or microbial processes. Additional background inautomation engineering/PAT and programming languages would be desirable.   Qualifications Education Minimum Requirement:        PhD in Chemical/Biochemical Engineering or related engineeringdiscipline OR        Master's in Chemical/Biochemical Engineering or relatedengineering discipline with at least 4 years of directly related experience; OR        Bachelor's in Chemical/Biochemical Engineering or relatedengineering discipline with at least 7 years of directly related experience  Required Experience and Skills : o Demonstratedunderstanding of engineering/science fundamentals applied to bioprocess. o Hands-on experience inbiologics upstream or downstream process unit operations. o Proven technical writingskills including peer-reviewed journal publication. o Strong communication andinterpersonal skills to work in cross-functional team environment.  Preferred Experience and Skills: o Experience at pilotscale or above. o Experience in automationengineering/PAT as applied to bioprocess. o Proficiency inprogramming languages e.g. R/Python, Sharepoint/Nintex, HTML/JS, DeltaV, MFCS. o Competency instatistical data analysis and employing Design of Experiments (DOE) approach. o Knowledge of facilitiesengineering as applied to bioprocess. o Familiarity with CMCregulatory as applied to bioprocess.   Your role at Merck isintegral to helping the world meet new breakthroughs that affect generations tocome, and we're counting on your skills and inventiveness to help makemeaningful contributions to global medical advancement. The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
