The Transfer Pricing Senior Specialist will report to the Director, Transfer pricing. This individual will work across the corporate Transfer Pricing team to develop financial and economic reports and analyses which support transfer pricing planning and compliance objectives. The Senior Specialist will produce segmented legal entity financial statements, expense allocation and recharge analyses, entity profitability and adjustment analyses, enterprise-wide legal entity profitability forecasts, and other analyses required to support the corporate Transfer Pricing team.

In addition to supporting the corporate Transfer Pricing team's financial and economic analysis requirements, the Transfer Pricing Senior Specialist will manage Merck's US management service fee process and assist the Transfer Pricing Director in the production of Merck's annual U.S. transfer pricing documentation.

This position reports to the Director, Transfer Pricing.¬ 

  • Identify, reconcile, analyze, and report financial data as required to support Merck transfer pricing compliance and planning objectives

  • Manage Merck's U.S. management service fee (MSF) and propose quarterly MSF charges to participating Merck entities

  • Assist with the production of Merck's annual U.S. transfer pricing documentation.

  • Assist the Transfer Pricing Director with valuation work in support of tax planning projects

  • Participate in implementation and extension of Merck Operational Transfer Pricing systems and processes (e.g. OOXP/TRAMS)

Education Minimum Requirement:¬  Minimum educational requirement for the position is a bachelor's degree in economics, finance, accounting, business or a related major.

Required Experience and Skills:¬ 

  • 3 years of combined public accounting and/or corporate finance/accounting experience strongly preferred.

  • Experience developing financial models and reports, and conducting financial analyses

  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office products (MS-Excel, MS-Access, MS-Word) required

  • Experience with desktop data visualization, analysis and workflow software (e.g. Alteryx, Tableau, Spotfire) strongly preferred

  • Knowledge of accounting principles and experience with multiple ERP and financial reporting systems (e.g., Hyperion, SAP, Oracle)

  • Minimum educational requirement for the position is a bachelor's degree in economics, finance, accounting, business or a related major.¬ ¬

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
