Senior Scientist, Screening and Compounds

We are seeking an experienced, highly motivated scientist to join the Screening and Compound Group located in Kenilworth, NJ.¬  You will be part of a team focusing on assay development and high throughput screening (HTS) for the generation and identification of novel biotherapeutics.¬  You will drive HTS through the use of automation and participate in efforts to develop and integrate cell-based functional and biochemical assays to identify novel chemical matter for program teams.¬

In this exciting role, you will:



  • Develop screening assays through the use of robotics, liquid handlers and relevant screening platforms.


  • Work on developing new capabilities and perform pharmacological mechanism of action studies.


  • Collaborate with multiple groups within the Discovery Research Organization and work across a portfolio of programs.



Qualifications

¬ 


Required Experience and Skills:



  • PhD with less than 1 years of experience OR a Master's Degree with a minimum of 3 years' experience OR a Bachelor's Degree with a minimum of 5 years' experience in research¬  focused on assay development and high throughput screening.


  • Expert level knowledge of assay development methodologies for binding and functional activity


  • Experience with different detection technologies including FRET, luminescence , fluorescence, and absorbance


  • Experience in molecular biology techniques


  • Demonstrated ability to multitask, prioritize work and manage a number of projects ¬ 


  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a team and to adapt to ambiguity and change


  • Ability to succeed in a collaborative, highly matrixed environment.



Preferred Skill set and experience



  • Prior experience with high-throughput screening, automation and liquid handling platforms
