Summary:
An Account Manager is in charge of making sure the needs of their clients and customers are met.
They handle customer complaints, find solutions to their issues, and maintain a positive relationship between both parties for future business projects.
Duties/
Responsibilities:
Manage customer accounts to determine their needs.
Enter sales orders for their customers, deciding on sale price and GP%.
Answers customers questions about merchandise and assist with purchase decisions.
Consults with customers to understand their needs and preferences related to merchandise, work with customer to decide what vendor to purchase material from.
Demonstrates and explains merchandise, selecting and suggesting options suitable for the customer's needs deciding where to procure and purchase the material from.
Transfer material between branches for stock if their branch does not have material coordinating with other branches on material transfer and timing.
Inventory control, cycle counting and making required adjustments.
Partner and collaborate closely with AR department to accelerate and collect timely payments from customers/accounts.
Work with vendors to get special pricing and terms for jobs.
Decide whether to take a product return and give credit to the customer, working with vendor to get a return goods authorization.
Work to identify new product or market opportunities that will lead to increased sales/account opportunities.
Required Skills/Abilities:
Excellent listening and verbal communication skills.
Extensive knowledge of the merchandise sold.
Ability to anticipate customers' needs.
Ability to recommend merchandise to customers.
Ability to operate or to quickly learn the store's point-of-sale system.
Education and
Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Previous retail and plumbing sales experience preferred.
On-the-job training provided.
Physical Requirements:
Prolonged periods of standing and walking throughout the retail and warehouse space.
Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs.
at times.
